About the Role


The Denvr Dataworks Accounting Administrator plays an important role within the Finance Team to ensure timely reporting and compliance on a number of critical items including the following key functions of the Finance Team:


  1. Accounts Payable Management – Responsible for maintaining the Accounting inbox and ensuring all inbound invoices are dealt with in a timely manner, including purchase order matching, AP approval workflow and coding review. Creating Purchase Orders, including approvals and forwarding to Denvr Team members and vendors. Verbal verification of new customer banking information (for electronic payments) or any changes in banking information while maintaining full documentation of the process. Completion of credit applications, as necessary. Streamlining the entire procurement to payment (P2P) process will be a key objective as the company continues to grow, which includes corporate credit card monitoring, employee expense/receipt collection and reimbursement as required.

  2. Bank Reconciliations – Responsible for daily bank uploads from various banking institutions and ensuring matching of receipts and payments against accounts receivable and payable. Ensuring the Controller is aware of any and all discrepancies between expected amounts and actual amounts, immediately. Monthly bank reconciliations prepared for sign off by Controller each month end, as part of month end closing.

  3. Prepaid Account Reconciliations – monitoring additions and automated amortization of prepaids within each legal entity to ensure appropriate balance sheet and expense recognition.

  4. Tax Reporting and Compliance (Canada and US) –working closely with the Controller, ensuring the timely preparation of the monthly Canadian and US/State tax compliance filings and payments, as required.

  5. Process Improvements and Automation – working closely with the Controller and CFO, suggest and implement process improvements with regards to P2P, Sales Orders, Invoicing & AR from the Customer Relationship Module (CRM), Inventory, Capital Assets, and any other processes, as assigned, to ensure a faster month end closing timeline and automation where possible. Assisting with the reduction of reliance on Excel to increase data integrity across all systems and reports.

  6. Report Development – working closely with the Controller, CFO, and others, as required, assist in developing and automating various financial and operating reports needed to make timely and fact-based decisions across the business.

  7. Customer Support – working closely with the Sales Team, Operations Team, and Controller to ensure that customer questions regarding billings are addressed as quickly and professionally as possible. Denvr is a customer focused business and professionalism is expected at every touch point with our customers, both internal and external.

Overall, the Accounting Administrator needs to be highly organized, skilled in communication, multitasking and process and consensus building.

You need to be able to work closely with the rest of the Finance Team, Sales Team, Operations Teams, and Executive team in order to continuously improve processes to increase efficiency and in financial reporting, tax compliance and customer satisfaction.

Skills include:

  • You have had increasing responsibility through the procurement to payment (P2P) process

  • You are working on your CPA designation and wish to further your career in accounting and finance in a fast-paced, growing environment.

  • You are an independent worker who knows when to ask for support and direction.

  • You bring solutions to problems identified, not just the problem, to the table.

  • You are adept at account reconciliations, including banks, credit cards and tax compliance reporting (GST and/or US State tax filings)

  • You have worked in a multi-currency reporting and consolidation enterprise. We are a Canadian based operation with significant US based sales, operations, and employees.

  • US state tax monthly filing experience an asset.

  • NetSuite experience an asset.

  • Flexible in work from home or office environment, as required by the company.
