About the Role


The Denvr Dataworks Sales Engineering and Support team plays a crucial role in acquiring and retaining customers and ensuring their satisfaction. The Director of Sales Engineering will provide strategic management, design, development, guidance and stewardship of Denvr’s Sales Engineering & Customer Support team including the following key functions:


  1. Sales Enablement – Responsibility and coordination with the marketing team and the biz-dev team in equipping the biz-dev and sales engineering team with the tools and resources they need to be successful. This includes opportunity modeling, proposal and order form development and creation, developing sales training programs, creating sales collateral, and ensuring that the biz-dev and sales engineering team has access to the most up-to-date information about the company's cloud services.

  2. Sales Process – Responsibility and coordination with the biz-dev team in developing and managing sales process which guides potential customers that have expressed interest in the company's services through the sales process. This involves answering their questions, providing product demos, and helping them select the best services that meet their needs.

  3. Sales Process Optimization - Responsibility and coordination with the biz-dev team in evaluating the current sales process and identifying areas for improvement. This includes analyzing the sales pipeline, identifying bottlenecks, and making recommendations for streamlining the process.

  4. Sales Metrics, Forecasting and Reporting - Responsibility and coordination with the biz-dev team for tracking, forecasting and reporting on sales metrics to measure the effectiveness of the sales process. This includes monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales conversion rates, average deal size, and sales cycle length.

  5. Sales Technology Management - Responsibility and coordination with the biz-dev team for managing the sales technology stack, including customer relationship management (CRM) software, sales automation tools, and other sales-related software. This includes evaluating new technologies, implementing new tools, and ensuring that the biz-dev and sales engineering team are properly trained on how to use them.

  6. Customer Onboarding - Responsible for ensuring a smooth onboarding process. This involves helping the customer set up their account, providing training on how to use the services, and addressing any issues or concerns they may have.

  7. Customer Support & Retention - Responsible for addressing any issues or questions that customers may have once using company services. Includes providing technical support, troubleshooting issues, as well as retaining customers by ensuring their satisfaction. This involves building strong relationships with customers and proactively reaching out to them to address any issues before they become bigger problems.

  8. Upselling and Cross-Selling - Responsible for identifying opportunities to upsell or cross-sell additional services to existing customers. This involves understanding the customer's needs and offering them relevant services that can help them achieve their goals.

Overall, the Sales Engineering and Support team needs to be highly skilled in communication, customer service, technical expertise, sales process, sales enablement, data analysis, and technology management. They need to be able to work closely with the Biz-Dev, Product and Marketing team, understand the needs and preferences of customers, and continuously evaluate and improve the sales process to increase efficiency and revenue while ensuring that customers are satisfied and that the company is achieving its goals.


  • 7+ years experience

  • Outstanding presentation skills

  • Post-secondary Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or relevant combination of education and experience

  • MBA an asset but not required
